Stanislav “Stash” Capar
(pronounced Tsa-par)
Stash spent his earliest years in a refugee camp among families searching for a home. This formative experience laid the groundwork for a romantic understanding of childhood, family, and the human condition—one that is strikingly apparent across his work.
After obtaining status in Canada, Stash spent the next twenty years living across the U.K., Scandinavia, the Middle East, and ultimately, the United States. He worked as a writer, film editor, creative producer, and even children’s sports coach before stepping into the director’s chair.
He is best known for capturing a sense of timeless, childhood nostalgia that crosses borders, cultures and mediums.
